We multiply your vessel's water capacity by the wax's fill density (for example, soy at 0.86 g/ml) to get the total fill weight, then split it into wax and fragrance oil using your fragrance load. A 8 fl oz vessel with soy at 8% load needs about 188.4 g of wax and 15.1 g of fragrance oil per candle.
Tip: measure your vessel's true water capacity by filling it with water on a scale — 1 g of water = 1 ml.
